This is part 1 of the full photo gallery that we did of JEWEL for Gallery Magazine’s Girl Next Door contest. Jewel was the perfect girl next door. The editors of Gallery told me they wanted to start having real models in contrast to the continuous same look of LA porn models. When it was published I thought Jewel looked out of place next to all the other plastic-looking girls. I kept sending them new models (I shot Michelle around the same time), but they also kept featuring the same LA fakes they said they were trying to avoid. It was a mistake, and the magazine started to look like a mannequin factory. In 2018 Gallery Magazine went bankrupt. Keeping it “real” is Amy’s job now. ;) - John
